9-y-o Sylvan Zeitlyn rides the geo

At the Channel 17 picnic in May 2012 Sylvan requested a ride, and eventually ended up circumnavigating Oakledge Park in Burlington. He said kids' versions weren't needed, because "This one is the perfect size for me!"

While the inventor-rider is not a BMX practitioner, and the prototype is a road bike, you can see here how the design lets you 'dance' to beats other than disco, offset the pedals to the outside of a turn to do figure-eights under power, and take your choice of longer, slower strokes or shorter, quicker ones at any given road speed. Since there's no 'dead spot' (when rotary pedals are at 12 and 6 o'clock), it ascends better than any single-speed rotary bike with equivalent gearing.

Juli rides for the first time in 10 years! July 2010

Juli has a prosthetic knee joint and hasn't been able to ride a conventional, rotary-pedal bike for 10 years, although she used to commute 20 miles each way to work on her mountain bike.  Last July she tried the Geo and rode right off, no problem. Less range of motion is needed, and the stroke is variable, mitigating repetitive-motion issues.

Another woman just six weeks post-ACL reconstruction surgery tried riding the Geo bike for the first time, gingerly taking little baby strokes, but riding again, without pain!
